Game Description

9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far is a fresh take on the real-time strategy (RTS) genre, developed by Petroglyph. It brings classic RTS gameplay into a voxel-styled world, with a mix of both nostalgia and innovation.

Players lead armies across land, sea, and air, utilizing a wide array of military units. The game is designed to be approachable for new players, while still offering depth and complexity for RTS veterans.

In the game, two factions—the Overlords and the Sentinels—engage in combat across a variety of maps, each requiring strategic use of units and resources.

The campaign mode features 12 missions, with additional objectives and difficulty settings that challenge players to improve their performance. The game’s persistent veterancy system allows units to grow stronger as they survive battles, adding a sense of progression and strategy.

One of the game’s standout features is its inclusion of naval warfare. Players can command battleships and submarines to dominate seas, introducing an extra layer of strategy as they balance land, sea, and air operations.

The game’s maps are significantly larger than previous entries, with new mechanics like bridges, which players can use to either access or deny key areas of the battlefield.

The multiplayer mode is robust, supporting up to 8 players in online skirmishes, and a cooperative campaign option allows players to team up with friends.

Full Steam Workshop integration encourages community creativity, allowing users to design and share custom maps, missions, and mods. The combination of daily challenges, large-scale battles, and modding capabilities ensures long-term replayability.

Additionally, the game’s art style, sound design, and unique voxel graphics set it apart from other RTS titles, while its easy-to-learn controls make it accessible without sacrificing the complexity that genre fans appreciate.
